30 Days of Coffee: Day 25 - Americano at Koi Cafe

There are quite a few great little coffeeshops here in Bellingham, WA. Some are quirky, some are corporate. Some serve really great coffee. Some serve good pastries to make up for the mediocre coffee. I’m pretty sure I’ve been to most of them. I do the coffeeshop thing a lot, not just because I love it, but because I’m a meetings person. I meet with and mentor students. I meet with friends to chat about life. I meet with colleagues to plan ahead. I meet with clients to talk about business. I meet. In coffeeshops.

Today, I met with a good friend at the Koi Cafe. We chatted about life, the future, and the summer. We caught up, after not having a chance to chat much in the last few weeks. It was great to sit together again, sip coffee, and check in. I’d drink coffee just as an excuse to meet with friends like this. It’s so worth it.

The Americano I had today was less than spectacular. Too hot, in my humble opinion. Not very flavorful. But, a decent drink nonetheless. I did like the mug. And as you know from my posts, I believe the person you share the coffee with and the place you occupy can make a cup all the better (or all the worse). Today, the setting made it better. Sitting by the window, watching the wet streets of Bellingham, chatting about life, the cup got better.
