Update from Niger- 09/14/2006 (Sean)

It has been difficult to send emails in Niger which I should have expected from the poorest country in the world, but I am available for the time being to write an update on all I’ve seen and done so far. Our trip into Niger was quite an adventure.  Our flight was supposed to land [...]

Thoughts on Hitting the Ground Running

Well, the first full week around the INN office is half-way over. We’ve begun to settle in, get acclimated as a staff, figure out who does what and so on. It’s kind of like back to school time, where you get into your classroom with your friends and start to think about the year ahead. [...]

Quick Update (Sean)

Thanks for your comments and emails everyone.  Paris was great, I’ll write about it tomorrow, but I’ve got to get some sleep now.  My next post will be from Niger.  Check out the pictures below…I know, I know, it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.

The Cross I Wore (Sean)

When I first became a Christian I purchased a cross necklace.  It’s a simple necklace with black string and a metal cross.  Really nothing special to look at, but I’ve worn it everyday for the past five years and actually, I can’t recall ever taking it off…until last night.

What would you do with 24 hours in Paris? (Sean)

Sean in Africa

Another very exciting thing is happening with this blog: My good friend Sean Baird is heading off to the country of Niger on September 10th. While he’s away, he has asked to be a "guest blogger" here at Twenty-three, sharing his thoughts on his work in Africa as well as his insight into the greater [...]

Two Week Trip to Niger (Sean)

My good friend Seth has been kind enough to create a space for me to share my thoughts and experiences with each of you on his blog rather than start a new one up or put a ton of time into maintaining my old one.  I hope that you will feel free to comment and [...]

Free Derek Webb

Looking for some free music? Or maybe some challenging theology? Maybe both. Check out www.freederekwebb.com and download Derek Webb’s latest album, "Mockingbird", for free. It’s an amazing album and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. I blogged on it back when it was released, so check that out too.

The Cost of Individualism

So, this afternoon, I got the urge to do some writing. The following is an essay, largely unedited, that I put together on the topic of individualism. I’ll refrain from my typical apologies for my lack of understanding, but you get the gist. Enjoy. PS: It’s kinda long.
