Mockingbird

Former Caedmon’s Call singer/songwriter Derek Webb’s new CD "Mockingbird" is great. With the musical style of a raw Caedmon’s Call album and the lyrical honesty that speaks truth into some of Christianity’s dark places, this album really has hit home with me.

Writer’s Notebook

Maybe I’ll jinx myself with a post like this, but I’ve actually been pretty consistent over the last two weeks at this blog thing. And so, I contemplate letting other people know about where I’m posting and what I’m talking about.
Some people, it’s easy to say, "Hey, check out my blog, I’ve been writing about…blah [...]

What’s lost in translation?

Genesis 3:16

It should be a good time, lots of different opinions, lots of yelling, [...]

Brian McLaren Interview

Cruel World

If anyone reads my blog, know that I am not so much bitter as I am
realistic. Many of my posts have centered on dissatisfaction with many
of the unknowns in my world, the answered questions that seem to plague
this place in my life. While I do not lack hope in a better, blessed
tomorrow, I often find [...]

Cigarettes and Worldviews

Washington passed an indoor smoking ban this past election that went into affect a couple weeks ago. You can no longer smoke in a public place basically, including bars, restaurants, and other privately owned establishments and you have to be 25 feet away from the door to do it outside.
I’m trying to figure out how [...]
