Significance of 23 (Twenty-Three)

What providence. Naming my blog after a blockbuster Jim Carrey horror movie. Now that’s a way to drive up your search engine rating. Call it the Twenty-Three blog. The name suggests that I might be blogging about the movie, so Google searches like "significance of twenty three" and "twenty three movie" return my page in their results. Ahh, the poor person who thinks I’ve actually got something to say about that movie. If you know anything about me, you know I’d never go near that little flick (I’m a bit of a chicken when it comes to scary).

I have been tracking my blog’s user stats since December using Google
Analytics, a free tool that shows me all kinds of cool information,
like where you are if you’re viewing this blog. (For the person in Fort Bonifacio,
in the Philippines, please comment on this post, I’d really like to
know who you are) I’ve enjoyed knowing that somewhere between 20 and 40
people visit this page every day. Or, maybe you visit this page more
than once a day from different computers (fancy that). Or, maybe I visit this page from 20 to 40 different computers every day (the most likely hypothesis). Who knows…it’s still cool.

As I close, you might be asking, where does Twenty Three come from. You
might be saying, "Seth, you’re 24, embrace it." Actually, Twenty Three
was named when I was…23. So that’s where it started. 23 is also my
Dad’s "lucky number", the day in January he was born, Michael Jordan’s
jersey number, a wonderful Psalm, and a host of other important things. It’s
also just a good name that stuck. Hope that’s alright. I really don’t like the
sound of Twenty Five, so don’t bet on a name change next year and while
I enjoy the random search engine hits from the name coincidences, I’m
really not interested in having a bunch of people who were looking for
info on Jack Bauer (24) coming along and reading about my life.
Honestly, I’m no match for Jack and I won’t claim to be.

With that, I hope you are either laughing uncontrollably from my dry
humor or you’ve just stopped reading this post and gone on to more
important things. Good night.

Last week at the INN, since it was October 31st and I was playing music, I decided to dress up like a musician. But what musician would I choose? It was a hard decision, but I’m pretty happy with my costume.

Anne Frank? That’s my celebrity look-alike? And some British royalty and an X-files star? Wow.

I much prefer this one. I mean seriously, I’ve got Jack from Lost, Josh Groban, David Arquette and especially Gary Busey on this one. Much better. Wait…is it good that Gary Busey made my look-alike list?
