A weekend of pumpkins

It’s definetly felt like Fall around here this weekend. Yesterday, we went to Stoney Ridge Farm to pick out pumpkins, then spent the afternoon carving and admiring our Jack-o-lanterns. Of course, the admiring was done from inside, with a cold glass of Elysian brewing’s Night Owl pumpkin ale.

Now is the Time

If you happened to miss last night’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention by Barack Obama, it was pretty inspiring. It is exciting to be able to witness this history in the making and to see such great hope in a nation, coming together, and standing up for what we believe in, not being [...]

Summer Reading, Viewing, and Listening

As the summer is now in full swing, my reading list is also now finally moving into full motion. During the year I find it hard to sit down with a book for any extended period of time, let alone finish with any semblance of recollection of the main point, so this has been a [...]

4 hours and the beginning of summer

Well folks, I'm starting to get pretty excited. It's 4 hours 'til midnight. Coldplay's new album, Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends, will be released tomorrow. Celebrated my 2 year wedding anniversary with Stacy
Started my own business
Made unsuccessful offers on two houses [...]

I guess it’s Christmas time…

At least according to Starbucks. I’ve heard that they made the big Christmas switch-over last night. I’m trying to hold off stopping by, but it’s inevitable that I’ll see it sooner or later. My small group meets there Friday mornings, so I’m in for it tomorrow.
The question is, what if I want a Pumpkin Spice [...]

What last week of October would be complete without pumpkin carving?

And since I really miss LOST…

Good Summer Life

It’s been a good week. In all the busyness of this summer, it’s nice to be able to look back sometimes and say, "hey, it’s been a good week." Here are some reasons why:

My tomatoes are getting ripe. And boy are they good bite-sized snacks, a couple at a time.

I moved offices. This is good [...]
