The Beginning of Summer

I think I got my first sunburn of the year today…I say I think because the redness is still developing.

Today really felt like summer. We went to Lake Padden and found a spot along the shore, away from the crowded, Daytona Beach-esque, meat-market college section. With a good book (Gossamer by Lois Lowry), a good friend (and wife), and a soft breeze, the scene was set for a perfect afternoon of relaxation. We topped it off with a brisk walk around the lake. What could be better?

Not to brag, but I also know that it’s got to be summer, because I don’t have to be anywhere before 10 am every day and I’m done by 4:30 at the latest. With no work on Fridays thrown in, this is truly the life.
